Atomos Ninja and Shogun Series

Atomos has announced AtomOS version 11.06.00. It brings several new features to the Atomos Ninja and Shogun monitor/recorders. These include Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) streaming and camera-to-cloud integration with MediaSilo.

The new update also adds support for Fujifilm F-LOG2. Users can now utilize the F-Log2/REC709/BT2020 gamma/gamut combination for YCC video, as well as for ProRes RAW and Proxy Recordings.

AtomOS 11.06.00 – SRT Streaming

Over the last few years, streaming has become a massive industry. Most of us are doing it, whether it’s just Zoom chats or we’re live streaming to YouTube. The wealth of hardware and software out there now makes it a doddle for just about anyone.

But streaming has been around for a long time. Typically used by broadcasters, Secure Reliable Transport (SRT) streaming is… Well, secure and reliable. It’s an open-source protocol developed by Haivision.

It allows you to bring streams from remote locations to include in your production. It uses 128/256 bit AES encryption to ensure that your content is safe. It also adapts to the available bandwidth to ensure that you always get the smoothest experience possible.

Now, it’s available to all Atomos monitor/recorder users

  • Supported SRT Modes: Caller, Listener
  • Supported Resolutions: 1280 × 720, 1920 × 1080
  • Supported Frame Rates (Progressive Only): 23.98, 24, 25, 29.97, 30, 50, 59.94, 60

MediaSilo integration

Atomos has also integrated MediaSilo from EditShare into its Cloud Studio, expanding the options for Camera to Cloud integration. Users can now access MediaSilo directly from Atomos Cloud Studio, allowing for easy configuration of connections and destinations through a user-friendly web interface.

Fujifilm F-LOG2 Support

For Fujifilm users, the AtomOS 11.06.00 firmware update brings another exciting feature: full support for F-LOG2. This allows for more accurate colour processing when shooting and monitoring the F-LOG2 profile.

  • Use F-Log2/REC709/BT2020 gamma/gamut combination for YCC video
  • Use F-Log2/REC709/BT2020 gamma/gamut combination as the ‘Output’ setting for ProRes RAW
  • Use F-Log2/REC709/BT2020 gamma/gamut combination as the Color setting for ProRes RAW and Proxy Recordings
