Aputure LS 600c Pro II

Aputure has announced the new Aputure LS 600c Pro II ($2,490), an IP54-rated RGB LED light with Bowens modifier mount and 720W output. As an RGBWW light, it has a wide colour temperature range from 2,300K to 10,000K. Of course, with green/magenta adjustment.

It’s available in either V-Mount or Gold Mount flavour, but it comes supplied with an AC Adapter to power it from the wall. With a wide range of control options and the IP54 rating, it looks like a versatile solution for use on location.

Aputure LC 600c Pro II – Powerful lights for bad weather

The Aputure LC 600c Pro II follows on from the success of its predecessor, the Aputure LC 600c Pro ($2,490). The Pro II has retained the original’s Pro price and maintains the high CRI and TLCI of 95 and 98, respectively.

In fact, on paper, the specifications look largely the same. However, it’s gained a couple of significant advantages, particularly for those who regularly shoot on location. The first is that it boasts 35% more light output. They’ve also given it an IP54 rating for use outdoors, even in bad weather.

Our customers trust Aputure to light their sets with power and reliability, and the Light Storm
lineup is a staple for so many productions. Increased brightness–up to 85% when used with our

difference, especially on the most rigorous and demanding projects

It’s a nice little upgrade for those who need it. For new users, there’s no point buying the original now. The Pro II is a no-brainer given that it is the same price. For those who have the original Pro models… Well, you’ll have to decide that for yourself if upgrading is worth it.

What is IP54 Rating?

IP ratings are a measure of protection for various products. They define the level of ingress protection you can expect from dust and water in a product with a given rating. Some ratings do require caveats, but the IP54 rating is quite straightforward.

IP54 – Protected from limited dust ingress. Protected from water spray from any direction.

So, it should be able to handle most weather quite fine. I’d probably avoid hurricanes, though, and I certainly wouldn’t go dunking it in any pools. IP54 does not mean waterproof.

Price and Availability

The Aputure LS 600c Pro II is available to pre-order now for $2,490 in V-Mount or Gold Mount options. Shipping is expected to begin in the coming weeks.
